Ingredients

Dough

• 2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1/2 teaspoon salt

• 1 large egg

• 1/2 cup water (more if needed)

Filling

• 1/2 pound ground beef or lamb

• 1 small onion, finely chopped

• 1/4 teaspoon salt

• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

• 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Sauce

• 1 cup plain yogurt

• 2 cloves garlic, minced

• 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

Dough

1. Mix Dough: In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg and water. Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic. Add more water if necessary. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Filling

2. Prepare Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Assembling Manti

3. Roll Dough: Divide the dough into two portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each portion into a thin sheet, about 1/8 inch thick.

4. Cut Dough: Cut the dough into small
5. squares, approximately 1.5 inches (4 cm) on each side.

5. Fill and Shape: Place a small amount of filling (about 1/2 teaspoon) in the center of each square. Pinch the opposite corners of the square together to form a tiny pouch. Make sure the edges are sealed well.

Cooking Manti

6. Boil Water: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully drop the manti into the boiling water. Cook for about 10- 15 minutes, or until the manti float to the surface and the dough is tender.

7. Drain Manti: Use a slotted spoon to remove the manti from the water and transfer them to a serving dish.

Sauce

8. Prepare Yogurt Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the plain yogurt and minced garlic until smooth. Season with a pinch of salt.

9. Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the paprika and dried mint (if using), and stir for a few seconds until fragrant.
